Jasmina Randhawa - President and Principal Strategist

Jasmina Randhawa is the President and Principal Strategist of Randhawa Strategies Inc., a Yukon-based government navigation firm.

She has served as Chief of Staff to the Premier of Yukon, Assistant Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Major Projects, and Director of Labour Relations. In these roles, she worked at the centre of government decision-making, advising on cabinet priorities, complex policy and intergovernmental files, negotiations, and high-profile issues involving territorial, federal, Indigenous, and private-sector partners.

Today, she works with clients on complex and time-sensitive files, bringing a practical understanding of how decisions are made and how timing, relationships, and context shape outcomes. Her work is informed by a strong understanding of the Yukon’s political, economic, and community landscape.

She also works with executive leaders across government, development corporations, and the private sector to support leadership development, including delivering training on political acumen for public servants informing government decision-making.

Jasmina’s approach to leadership is shaped by her personal story and connection to the Yukon. As the child of immigrants whose family has called the territory home since the late 1970s, she brings a grounded, people-centred perspective to her work. Family and community are central to how she approaches her work and defines success, and they continue to shape her commitment to supporting organizations in ways that stay connected to the people and communities they serve.

Kathleen Smith - Senior Associate

A lifelong Northerner, Kathleen’s perspective was shaped on Great Slave Lake, where she was raised on a houseboat in Yellowknife, NWT. This foundational experience, defined by practical grit and a deep connection to the North, has informed her decade-long career in the Yukon.

From 2016 to 2025, Kathleen worked at the highest levels of the Yukon Government. Serving in senior roles within Cabinet Offices, she provided critical political and legislative advice to Ministers and the Chief of Staff.

Kathleen holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from McGill University, with a specialization in Arctic International Relations. With a diverse professional background spanning the mining and non-profit sectors, she offers a 360-degree view of the Northern economy.

Kathleen combines this with nearly a decade of senior level experience to bridge the gap between private interests and public policy for Randhawa Strategies Inc.’s clients.  When working with RSI clients, Kathleen is on call to assist with challenges like  guiding clients through funding applications, providing policy advice and helping navigate government systems.
